Analysis of C16 to C24, which column?

Hello,

I make the analysis of C16 to C24.
I use a DBWAX and the results are good but my columns resist badly with methanol and sulphuric acid.
Do you have an other solution to make this analysis?

Thank you,
Miella

Hi Miella,

Sulfurid acid in general is a problem for GC capillary columns, even for crosslinked and bonded phases, independent of the polarity of the column, WAX or DB-1. The best recommendation is to get rid of sulfuric acid prior to analysis or to accept that the lifetime is not as good as without.
Sorry

Nils
