Hello everyone,
I am looking for an application for GC analisis of CH4 and H2S with a FID or an NPD detector.
I only found applications on TCP or PFPD dectector with PLOT or 5ms columns.
Does anyone have (and would share) other applications with these detectors?

Thanks in advance & Best regards,
Can-Pat

hello Can-Pat,

FID responds to C-H containing compounds. Methane can be detected, although it is poorly retained and usually used as a voi9d volume marker (unretained peak) with open tubular columns such as the HP-5MS. H2S will have little or no response on the FID. The NPD responds best to nitrogen-containing or phosphorus-containing compounds. Both CH4 and H2S will have little or no response on the FID.
