Hello,

Fast Blue fluorescent dye is commonly used as a Neuronal Tracer and is sometimes referred to as a Hydrophilic Retrograde Tracer. It can be injected into laboratory animals at a concentration of 2.5% in isotonic saline. Common protocols recommend injecting 0.01-0.2 microliters of a 2.5% concentration (in 40 microliters of distilled water) into the desired area of the laboratory animal. Euthanasia then occurs 2-3 days post-injection.

For a 0.1% solution of the Fast-Blue, the following formula should be followed:
1 gram of Fast Blue
1,000 ml of 95% ethanol
5 ml of 10% acetic acid

Soluble in: water, lower alcohols.

Excitation wavelength: 365nm
Emission wavelength: 420nm

Kind regards
