Technical Presentation

CELLSPON is a natural, biocompatible and homogeneous sponge for in vitro experiments, and implant for animal testing. CELLSPON is the result of long cooperation by surgeons and pulp technology experts.

It is made of a high grade cellulose, with insignificant residues. The optimal distribution of various pore sizes, an open pore-to-pore structure and extra thin pore walls, make it an ideal support to offer a cell-friendly positif and inerte environment. It suits optical microscopic observation in histology, as well histochemistry analysis.

CELLSPON can be used as a matrix for studying conjonctive tissue formation, post-traumatic cellular response, drug dose response, cell-to-cell interaction, receptors, etc. It has, for instance, been pre-treated with collagen, amino acid solutions or antiseptic solutions and normally generates less tissue reactions than those caused by synthetic sponges. It is a flexible matrix for in-vitro routine, or implanted into test animals to be used as an in-vivo matrix.

 

CELLSPON is available in different sizes and forms, to accommodate customer needs.
