CELLSTICK

CELLSTICK is a reliable and sensitive tool for gathering cells from the wound space. CELLSTICK is well applicable to use as a universal tool in connective tissue research when studying the micro environment of inflammatory cells, growth factors etc. Cells can be washed out easily with special wash-out equipment, in order to get the maximal harvest of intact cells with minimal damage.

CELLSTICK is well-documented as a tool for obtaining information on cell level activity in relation to the wound healing process: More than 2000 surgical patients have been tested in connection with their routine surgery in order to obtain detailed information on wound healing.

Technical tip:
A thin (OD about 3 mm) flexible special silicone tube with the cellulose sponge piece in the tip of the tube will be inserted into a post-operative surgical wound for a certain period of time, in order to collect a sample of cells needed. The cells will then be differential counted and the results feeded into a computer program for the final assessment of healing.

Some measures:
total length of the (inner) silicone tube 150 mm, the length of the supporting outer silicone tube 95 mm (for adults) or 110 mm (for children).
