Introducing RockStart hot start buffer for PCR

from DNA Polymerase Technology, Inc.

DNA Polymerase Technology's RockStart buffer is the newest hot start technology for PCR. The buffer precipitates magnesium to prevent primer-dimers and non-specific products. Upon normal cycling, the magnesium is freed. No long soak at 95º is necessary, and all tested DNA Polymerases are effective.

"Today I set up a VERY difficult diagnostic PCR, just replacing my usual buffer with the Rockstart buffer. . . Works like a charm! Surprisingly, this buffer can replace the buffer of any DNA polymerase . . . I would certainly choose RockStart over antibody-mediated hot-starts and chemically inactivated enzymes with their long required heat activation step."

Dr. Roland Hübner, University of Antwerp, Belgium

Suggested Procedure:

  • Add 5 ul 10x MgCl2.

  • Add 5 ul 10x Rock Start buffer.

  • Wait 15 minutes or one week. Have a latte.

  • Don’t worry about ice.

  • Add 40 ul mix of everything else for your reaction.

  • Start cycling the PCR reaction.

Kits include:
