Problem with DB5MS column and potassium injection

Please help me, I have a problem with my DB5MS column, it no longer works since I have inject potassium, I not understand why...?

The potassiuum has most likely killed at least a part of the stationary phase. One should not inject any mineral acid or inorganic basic compound like you did.
You may cut off 0.5 - 1 m of the column inlet. If you is lucky the column may work again. The result is hard to predict as water is reppelled from the non-polar surface of the DB-5 and can move very wide into the column.
At least it's worth to try before the column is scrapped.
