Temperature gradient and damage to the column ?

Hello,

I work with a capillary column DB-5MS 122-5532. I wonder myself if it is possible to work at 100°C/min during 15 or 30second whithout damage the column? Or is the temperature gradient to high? :|

Thanks in advance.

Hi,
As the column is made from pure Quartz extreme temp. changes up to several hundred deg. / sec can be used without causing a problem to the column.
During the change the temperature should not exceed the min. /max. temperture of the column.
Kind regards,

Fawk
