Resazurin Cell Viability Assay (AlamarBlue) #30025-1

Hello,

I'm working on cosmetic research and screening and I need some advices :
could you tell me what is the concentration of resazurin in Resazurin Cell Viability Assay (AlamarBlue) #30025-1?
and what microplate types are recommended? I guess white microplate could cause background, so black plates are suited, with well-wall and -bottom both black, or with clear bottom?

Thank you

Best regards

Hi,

The concentration of resazurin in AlamarBlue is 150ug/ml. This is normally diluted 1 in 10 for use.

hello,

Black-walled, clear bottom or all black microplates are generally recommended for fluorescence assays because they have lower backgrounds than clear plates (White plates are generally preferred for luminescence assays to optimize light collection.) Some plastics, notably polystyrene, have significant native fluorescence and can cause moderate background fluorescence. It may be wise to check the manufacturer's recommendation for which plates are optimal for fluorescence detection. It may also depend upon the microplate reader you are using and which type of plate is recommended (top reading or bottom reading). However, unless high sensitivity is needed, most black plates will be sufficient. So either black-walled, clear bottom or all black microplates could be used for your purposes.

have a good day
