The AutoSampler is fitted with a sparging port for internal and external needle rinsing, along with a peristaltic pump that feeds the sparging port.
In practice we have a bottle of carrier solvent X, a bottle containing a solvent Z (DMSO, etc.) for bracketing, the fluid circuit rinse and possibly a bottle of solvent Y to rinse the needle by sparging.
