With Interchim MS interface:
- Make-up pump: 150 µl/min.
- Dilution pump: 0.5 ml/min. (500 µl/min.)
The dilution pump flow can be reduced to between 0.3 and 0.8 ml/min.
At such a flow rate, an impact on peak height can be observed (concentration of the sample injected for MS) with no impact on the signal time.
By reducing the make-up flow rate, signal overlap becomes more sensitive.
We do not recommend reducing the flow rate below 0.04 ml/min.
The test was conducted with an elution flow rate of 20 ml/min.
We assume that we can use a lower make-up flow rate with a higher elution flow rate.
In conclusion, the standard make-up flow rate is of 0.10 ml/min.
The dilution flow rate can only be altered via sample concentration.
