There are 2 possible causes for the appearance of a residual peak in your analyses:
A - Product trapped in the source capillary
Pass the make-up solvent for at least 2h. If the problem persists, clean the cone
B - Product trapped in the cone
Remove the cone and sonicate in methanol + formic acid
