Six factors can cause a baseline drift problem:
A/ The instrument temperature has not stabilised:
Allow it to heat up for 10 min.
B/ Voltage fluctuation:
Check the connections and correct if necessary (see the RI IOTA manual, along with the Service Info the 2nd acquisition channel).
C/ Significant temperature fluctuations:
Shield the instrument from temperature fluctuations.
D/ Presence of drafts:
Keep the instrument out of drafts.
E/ RI IOTA exposed to sunlight:
Do not expose the RI IOTA to sunlight.
F/ Column not equilibrated:
Equilibrate the column.
