My flow rate is incorrect, what should I do?
Concerned instruments: puriFlash 215, puriFlash 430, puriFlash 450, puriFlash 4100, puriFlash 4250
Concerned module: pump
puriFlash instruments are qualified according to our "operational Qualification" procedure (test performed with distilled water at 20 °C). To check the flow rate, see our "Operational Qualification" procedure.
Several factors can cause an incorrect flow problem:
A/ Use of an excessively saline solution, damaging certain parts:
Rinse the instrument with distilled water at 60 °C to eliminate any salts.
If you frequently use saline solutions, systematic rinsing with distilled water at 60 °C, along with the use of an additional pump connected to the wash disc, are essential for correct machine operation.
B/ Damaged or fouled tubing:
Check the tubes and rinse or replace if necessary.
C/ Intake tube diameters different from those provided with the instruments, cavitation phenomenon:
Change the tubes as per supplier specifications (1/8" - inner diameter = 2.4 mm)
D/ Loose or damaged connectors:
Check and tighten all connectors, or replace as required.
E/ Defective valve:
Remove the pump head valves and ensure that the ball can move inside. If this is not the case, clean and sonicate the valves.
If the problem persists, replace all the valves.
F/ Blocked gradient valve:
Remove and clean the gradient valve as per Service Info#Gradient valve disassembly for cleaning.
If the problem persists, contact the After-sales service to replace the gradient valve.
