What is SPE? and the goals of SPE ?
SPE is a modern, rapid and reproducible method for the extraction and/or pre-concentration of molecules contained in a liquid sample, in view of their subsequent analysis.
The goals of SPE are :
Separation [analyte(s)/interfering compound] of a sample
Separation by class of a sample's different analytes (most difficult)
Separation [analyte(s)/solvent in which they have been solubilized]: (Pre-concentration of trace analyte(s), i.e. at very low concentrations in a large volume)
